Job Overview:
We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Accountant with
strong experience in the construction sector. You’ll play a key role in
managing daily accounting tasks, tracking project expenses, and ensuring
financial accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain
up-to-date accounting records for construction projects, purchases, and
overheads
- Prepare
monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Track
project budgets, cost-to-complete reports, and variance analysis
- Handle
accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
- Ensure
compliance with UAE VAT regulations and assist in filing returns
- Coordinate
with site engineers and procurement team for invoice verification
- Assist
in preparing payroll and monitoring petty cash
- Support
internal and external audits
- Liaise
with suppliers, subcontractors, and financial institutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum
3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction
or contracting industry in the UAE
- Strong
understanding of project-based accounting
- Proficient
in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho, or ERP systems)
- Solid
knowledge of UAE VAT and local compliance
- Strong
MS Excel skills
- Fluency
in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Must
be based in or willing to relocate to Mussafah, Abu Dhabi
Nice to Have:
- Experience
with project progress billing and retention
- Knowledge
of WPS payroll system
- Background
in handling bank guarantees and LC documentation
